Les Consultants Yves Choiniere Inc. is an engineering and agronomy consulting firm specialized in farm building construction and environment. The company began operations in 1995 with the instigation of Yves Choiniere. Mr. Choiniere is a graduate of the Agricultural Engineering Department, Macdonald College of McGill University (1983). He worked for the Ministry of Agriculture of Ontario for 11 years, first as a teacher in the agricultural technology of Alfred College and then as a specialist of Ontario animal housing. Along with his work, Yves has done his Masters in Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa (1991). His thesis focused on the development of natural ventilation systems for farm buildings. Yves Choiniere is the author of the Canadian Standards for natural ventilation systems and floor heating.
EVOLUTION OF SERVICES OFFERED
The company first offered the service of calibration of ventilation systems for farm buildings. Thereafter, the planning and construction of livestock production has been developed according to the environment requirements (all aspects related to projects). More recently, the services of expertise in sinister claims and groundwater compensation were established. We work in the agricultural, para-agricultural, residential, commercial, institutional, municipal and the government. International projects are also made.
FIELD OF EXPERTISE AND TEAM DESCRIPTION
In order to serve agricultural producers throughout Quebec, eastern Ontario and New Brunswick, the company offices are first located in Ange-Gardien, Montérégie (near Granby and Saint-Hyacinthe). End of 2008 a branch was opened in St-Apollinaire (near Quebec city) in order to more effectively serve customers in eastern Quebec.

In fourteen years, the team has grown and diversified. Civil and agricultural engineers, agronomists, technicians and designers work together to better serve an ever growing number of customers. The administration and secretary staff ensure a proper follow-up. In addition, students have the opportunity to perform an internship during the summer or fall. Most employees come from the farming community and this experience allows them to better understand the complexities of different projects.
The end of 2008 also saw the birth of an association between Yves Choiniere and Christian Lemay. Mr. Lemay is a graduate of Laval University in civil engineering and comes from a family of dairy farmers. He has been hired by Les Consultants Yves Choiniere Inc. since 1997 and specializes in the design of dairy barns and agricultural structures.
